It’s always fun to learn a bit about your profs. It’s neat to know they have been around the world or funny research experiences. But todays takes the cake.
I went to my History class today and the professor is new to the university and was telling us a bit about herself. She basically said that after getting her BA in Japan she went to England and just screwed around for 2 years wasting her parents money.
That was funny as hell to hear. It was also funny cause I know some Japanese girls who have done this.
Well this is certainly one thing I definetly didn’t want to deal with right before school started.
I tried to check something on my desktop and it seemed like the screensaver froze. So naturally as the system was unresponsive I restarted. Windows didn’t load.
First SATA drive, unresponsive. Drives 2, 3, 4 are fine.
Then I heard it, a clicking noise. A sure sign of a drive failure.
So now I need to go get a new HD. It wont be expensive though as I dont need to completely replace what I had. I could simply get an 80gig sata and that would be fine. I just have to head over to best buy and get it. I’m not extremely freaked because none of my important files are either on other drives or on my Dropbox so their safe.
So while its problematic its not putting me in crisis mode as it’s someting in my control that I can fix easily. It’s kinda helpful that I reformatted by computer in July making any work trivial.
Only thing I’m sad about is my photoshop brushes and whatnot. hehe.
I swear to fucking god I wanna kill my roommates.
They moved my shit from thewasher to the dryer and dryed them.Normally this may not be a problem but no the fabric doesn’t do well with the whole dryer thing so I air dry them. I can already feel the texture change on one of my shirts from it. I seriously need to beat the shit out of them tomorrow for their stupidity. Thank god their going back to fuckin texas this week and I can get them out of my hair. Stupid immature brats. I need to take a crowbar to their skulls.

OK heres just a few little updates going on in my world.
I have my desktop back and man did I miss my baby, the screens are just rocking my room out. My room though looks like crap as I get more stuff it just kinda goes on the floor. Haha.
Once I get some more of my stuff from the locker though I’ll be able to configure things how it should work. I was at the locker today and realized that a lot, and I really do mean a LOT, of my old clothes just dont look good anymore so I will be getting rid of them after I bring them here (I’ll donate to good will again). I want to have a good wardrobe for things to come and I dont think some of the stuff I have will cut it anymore.
I’m looking for things like stuff from the container store (sadly there is none on the island nore is there any close comparable place here though I plan to check w/ some ppl) and think geek for a few odds and ends that will make it easier to have my stuff all settled in.
I have gotten a couple of new rings for my style and I will get 1 more from think geek. Not that I’m a geek or anything (I am) but I think a ring that can open a bottle is a really cool trinket. I’ve been thinking about accessories and stuff as well lately. I’m thinking about piercing my ears as well just to stand out more (it’s not permanent nor is it bad, so I will hear no complaining).
I bought 2 hats today as I realized that it wouldn’t hurt to have some options since I really only have one right now. I picked up a nice fedora style hat and also grabbed a ball cap. I had some trouble figuring out which one to get cause Lids had so many, so I chose to go with my roots a bit and chose a baseball fitted cap. So did I go with the Indians or Reds? Neither I went with something more akin to my childhood. I went with the Mariners.
I think I have a bunch of shoes so I’ve been thinking of getting something to hold them all but I dont think I will get that until I have all of my stuff here so I can better chose what type to get.
I was thinking alot about going camping but I think that right now, getting my room, appearance, etc to where I want it to be takes precidence.
So now I must work on myself
Ok! Chiropractor says I’m not gonna make it. No just kidding but my back is fairly screwed up thats gonna take a while to fix 
To top that off I broke the ear wrap for my bluetooth device (i have extra) and that pisses me off and new rp tonight.
All in all it was a medeocre day with a bad ending. But I did get a cool new memory foam pillow. I figure it may help me fix my neck and back faster. Faster is always better after all.
I had to take trash out tonight so I planed it so that it would be my habitual wander by the place I was interested (neighbors). I was pretty stressed out by my day which went from 3hrs to 8hrs not to my liking. stupid work. Normally it would be cool but it wasnt. and then at like 4:46 one co-worker tried to log onto the banner system which is sort of the fiscal stuff for the uni and the browser would crash. I mean both browsers. firefox and IE. I have no idea why. it was pretty annoying to say the least. I couldnt figure it out and I dont really want to. I could go to the site but i didnt have the plug in to I think the activeX file may be fucked up. no sure though.
My roommate came back from her internship today and I realized that she wanted some stuff from REI too so I think we’re gonna do a joint purchase so that we can save on shipping. Oooo I just moved and man my head shifted funny. I am slightly intoxicated but I’ll be fine. I dont have anything to do until 12 noon tomorrow when I have my chiropractor appointment which should help relieve any stress I have.
I really like the chiro, he’s cool and all but its not as good a Mungovan. The massage is before the crack and it’s done by machine not a massuse, so that kinda sucks. I actually think I may change my choice of panniers for my bike from my last post.
I found a good set on REI from Obltek (I dont remember correctly) and its only 168 for a set and it holds a lot. I’m thining more and more about camping. One guy at the LBS said he wouldn’t camp here w/o a gun but I think he was over acting. So I think I’m gonna get my shit together and get the gear I need and go camping.

I’ve been spending a lot of money lately, especially now that I have my Japan money. I’m not going crazy or anything. To walk out at the end of the week w/ $0 in my bank account would be freakin crazy.
I have made good purchases though with a few more to come. I bought my new rack today (as the order came in). It was great cause I had brought my old baskets with me and attached them to it with some zip ties. I was able to get some yum yum milk from the store. I also purchased a new Timex watch. Not that my other watch was bad, in fact it’s still good but not good for the commute. This timex is also pretty cool cause it controls my ipod.
I broke down and bought a helmet for when I’m riding my bike. I know it’s like the first time ever but I kinda feel like It’s something I needed to do with all the horrible drivers here.
I’m looking at panniers for my bike right now I’m liking the Arkel Utility Basket. It looks pretty big and should work out great for going to the store and buying groceries. I’m also thinking about buying 2 Titan Panniers cause I think they would be a better bag to go camping with due to the fact they are completely waterproof like my bags I got for canoeing back when I was 18.
I need a tent. That’s what I need. hehe so I can go campin!!! I want this one, a Hennessy Hammock. This is a cool tent, really it is. I don’t have to worry about uneven ground of anything, just 2 trees and I’m good.
I have 3 computers to set up tomorrow. I’m only gonna do one though to be honest. I need to swap computers out for ppl. gonna be a pain in the but though.

Ok well that sucked. I was over at Ward Centre hanging around and was writing a good blog post and then all of a sudden it appeared as though I pushed the wrong button and it sent me back and when I went forward again my writings were gone. Sad T_T
Man today wasn’t fun at all. I was looking to go to work and get some good stuff done. but my phone and computer were communicationless so I only got some scanning done. It was so annoying though. We got new shredders, this is a good thing. They were low office level capacity taking only 6 pages (3 really, maybe 4) at a time and will over heat w/ constant use. It’s like having to cure cancer and all I get are a rubber band and a rock.
I’m happy. I got my deposit back from my old apt so I have money! I’m gonna get my japan money soon also and then I’ll have even more! I’m going to upgrade some parts of my bike. I have a new rack ordered which will be a replacement for my busted one. This one will have a lot larger weight capacity. I am looking now for panniers to carry a lot of crap. But I really want to go camping as it seems even more realistic. I need a tent though. I’m currently looking at a Hennessy Hammock tent. It looks really cool. All I’d need would be 2 trees/polls/etc. And I’ve read a blog of a biker on Oahu that has used it to go camping and gave it rave reviews.
I didn’t get to rp tonight which is sad. I did get to start working on my research again so that was good. I picked up a few miniatures too. I think I need to add a few reaper miniatures to my collection hehe. I might try to paint them actually.

Need new desk.
No desk at the new place for my computer (desktop) and I’d really like to get one here in the next few weeks cause I need to do some first aid on it to get it runnin at 100% again.
Been lookin around a bit online and at local stores like office depot and wal-mart. I was lookin for an L shaped desk cause that would give me the most surface area per space I want. But its hard cause theyre either out of my price range or only online and I can’t visually tell if my monitors would fit in it.
I think this looks nice but the monitor dilemma comes up again.
What to do.
