Here we go with part 2 of the wonderful article line of Dear Drivers in Hawaii.
This one is close to home for me so take care to what I’m about to say……
MOPEDS AND SCOOTERS NEED TO STAY OUT OF THE BIKE LANE
Ahem..
Now to explain why I feel this way. Because it’s illegal. I know I know, they look like bicycles just with motors, but I’m sorry to say that the law says they need to keep their asses out of the bike lane. It’s annoying when both driving and riding my bike that these idiots zip by into the bike lane and then back onto the road. They have no care for what is around them which is why I feel no pity when they get hit.
Hawaii needs to take better measures on these drivers as many have supped up their ride so it can get near 60mph. Those should be decommissioned or repaired to operate at normal speeds. And increase the fine for riding in the bike lane and actually enforce it.
So please, stay out of the bike lane.
