Well after making an attemp at teaching a co-worker how to update the site for work I came to the realization that it’s not all that user friendly for non-techy people. So I have come to the realization that while I made the front end pretty the back end is while organized somewhat confusing.
So I’ve decided to implement a CMS. I have decided to use WordPress as the CMS.
I started working on it today while at the office but it’s slow going. Up until now I’ve used it just for a blog so as a static site this is new. So I’ve figured out some of it but now I’m stuck on the theme. I know I can do it but I will need to do a lot of studying. I’ve never made my own theme before so this is a first.
Just need to figure out a good way to combine features from the site like the menus to a wordpress theme.

Work, work, work

I’ve been spending a lot of money lately, especially now that I have my Japan money.  I’m not going crazy or anything.  To walk out at the end of the week w/ $0 in my bank account would be freakin crazy.

I have made good purchases though with a few more to come.  I bought my new rack today (as the order came in). It was great cause I had brought my old baskets with me and attached them to it with some zip ties.  I was able to get some yum yum milk from the store.  I also purchased a new Timex watch.  Not that my other watch was bad, in fact it’s still good but not good for the commute.  This timex is also pretty cool cause it controls my ipod.

I broke down and bought a helmet for when I’m riding my bike.  I know it’s like the first time ever but I kinda feel like It’s something I needed to do with all the horrible drivers here.

I’m looking at panniers for my bike right now I’m liking the Arkel Utility Basket. It looks pretty big and should work out great for going to the store and buying groceries.  I’m also thinking about buying 2 Titan Panniers cause I think they would be a better bag to go camping with due to the fact they are completely waterproof like my bags I got for canoeing back when I was 18.

I need a tent.  That’s what I need. hehe so I can go campin!!!  I want this one, a Hennessy Hammock.  This is a cool tent, really it is.  I don’t have to worry about uneven ground of anything, just 2 trees and I’m good.

I have 3 computers to set up tomorrow.  I’m only gonna do one though to be honest.  I need to swap computers out for ppl.  gonna be a pain in the but though.

I really think it’s funny that a commercial has turned not only a verb into a noun but also a new word for the english language.

My feet may be gellin but my wallet certainly is not.  I’m getting little by little further into debt. I’ve got a little over$200 on my Discover along with the $200 on my Amex.  I have around $270 on my bank account and then a $670 pay check on my fridge so technically I could pay off both my cards.  BUT!!! I have rent on the 1st so I gotta keep my bank intact so I will probably pay my rent early just to get the money out of my hands so I’m not worried about keepin that funds safe.  It’s not like I’m exactly poor though, it’s all cause my jobs pay is pretty messed up.  I’m going to get paid but the next pay day is the 4th. So while it’s only 2 weeks away its the penny squeezing in that time period because the cash I have liquidated won’t cover everything.

Stupid bills, stupid fiscal office.

I’ve discovered there can be some balance in my life after all.  At work I have a lot to do actually but what makes it fun is that I get to spend most of my time on the computer.  As such I take my macbook to work with me and work on the website. This realization means that I can work on the site only at work so that means its not going to distract me when I’m at home like it did this weekend.  Balancing my time is much better now that I have a stronger idea of organization now.

Man I just made a hamburger with the patties I got from Sams Club and the buns from star market. its mm mm good!

I did a lot of CSS work today and I’m slowly getting a better idea about this but itll still take some time  to produce something even close to final.  I’ve decided to label the site as Beta as its still in testing. Actually I should rename it Alpha. haha.  I’m sure though that this experience in coding will fall over into this blog as well.

仕事、仕事～、し・ご・と！！！

I have a job now, not just a simple part-time job like have a Hollister but something I can be proud to put on my CV.   I will be a member of the Study Abroad Dept @ UH.  I have a list of duties to perform there in my bag but if I were to just list them here it would probably activate reader’s mental sleep mode so I don’t intend to state what they are, you’ll just have to guess.

This week it starting out to be pretty good.  I get a job, learn how to mix hobby and school work, and this semester looks promising.

I started to play the new Digimon game for the Nintendo DS and I’m surprised about the complexity it has for a youth game.  Not that I’m addicted to it (yet) but it is enjoyable as I can put it down and pick it up when I want to.  I think this is a response to my Japanese Pop Culture class that I’m taking right now.  I’m a kinetic learner, and sometimes I don’t realize that I am and simply go on with passive activities.  Though playing a video game is a distraction it is also a good tool to view the new “Cool Japan”.  This aspect of the game I never thought of before.  In the  past I would play the game and then walk away, now though I am playing the game but then thinking more about the game in terms of Japan, its culture, myths, and what have you.  This gives the game a new dimension as well as give me another possible research topic to use in the future, I know I don’t want to use this for my Master’s thesis but as a research topic for a paper or article it holds promise.  I just need to figure out my hook for it.  Hell I really need to figure out my Hook for my master’s thesis, maybe I should go ask James T. Hook.  That old pirate knows a thing or two about hooks after all.
