I spent my day today over at the Borders at Ward mall.  They have a Starbucks up on the second floor so I chilled up there.  I was reading my new book 1421 about the circumnavigation and discovery of America by the Chinese.  It’s not only a good read but a quick one.  I’m impressed with the background investigation that the author goes into. I’m already halfway through the book (there’s 500+ pages in it).

One thing I noticed a lot when I was sittin there was the number of people who would go get a book from the shelves sit down and read the book in Starbucks (w/o buying it mind you) and then just leaving it there and not putting it back where they got it.  It really annoyed me because Borders is not a library, I pick books of the shelves and read them just to get an idea about what the books about but I always stay there and put the book back after I’m done reading it.  How the people there were going it was just disrespectful and childish.

I also picked up the new novel by H. Turtledove, Opening Atlantis.  It’s an alternate view on history in a “what if” story and I’m looking forward to reading it.  I don’t think I’ll get a chance to read it here but I’m going to be taking a couple books back to Ohio with me to read as I’m sure I’ll have plenty of time to do so.

This being the first post in the blog is monumental!! Well not so much, but the design is going to go through a lot of changes in the next few weeks.  I think the best way to get the result I want is to actually sketch it out and then digitally save the work on my computer and then upload it to the site after I color, clean, etc the image.  Had I a Waicom tablet i could do it straight to the computer but as I am poor I have to do it the old fashion way.  I want the design quality to be of high quality and not something that’s generic that everyone has or looks like crap.  Well see how this works out.
